The strength of any good farming operation is its crew. Enterprise Farm is proud that its workers are a diverse group of local, seasonal, and returning guest workers. We all work together planting, picking and packing to make sure that our produce meets your demanding standards. The work environment is challenging, and despite the long hours and crazy weather, also rewarding and fun.
A production assistant at Enterprise Farm plays an active role in all aspects of farm production and greenhouse maintenance, and is responsible for duties that encompass greenhouse work, field work, administrative office work and support for the CSA farm share and a local farmer’s market.
A production assistant works closely with the production coordinator, independently, and with other farm managers in implementing and maintaining a season-long, multi-successional farm crop plan that requires detailed focus on a daily basis in the greenhouse and in the field.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Field scouting of crops for disease and market availability, weed management, pest and disease management, harvesting, post-harvest handling, irrigation, greenhouse propagation, seeding, ordering seed and supplies from vendors, maintaining and updating greenhouse and production logs as needed; transplanting, composting, assisting with CSA operation, markets, basic building projects and maintenance, driving and deliveries, and maintaining records and correspondence as they relate to greenhouse and field production.
A production assistant can expect to work at least five days a week, 40-50 hours total beginning in April, throughout the season, under the direction of the production coordinator. If interested, please send a resume and cover letter to email@example.com
